Nikon D850- Unable to connect to The Sky-X Thru Backyard Nikon Premium Edition

drbruce@cox.net

Question

I am trying to connect my Nikon D850 to the SkyX thru Backyard Nikon Premium Edition.  I noted a blog by Richard Wright (Oct 14, 2015) in which he talks about using the X2 plug -in listed in O'Telescopes.  I also have chosen the TCP/IP interface has he suggested in Backyard Nikon.  However, I still cannot connect my Nikon D850.

I am able to connect the Nikon D850 to the BYNikon but when I go to setup camera in The Sky-X Pro Camera add on, there is no choice for the Nikon D850.  I can chose the Nikon D-810A but this did not work.

Does anyone know a way to hook up the Nikon D850 to Sky-X Pro camera?

Bruce

The Sky X connects to BYN via the BYN API. The API is identical to that for BYE.

On the BYN side, you need to be sure that the BYN 3rd Party Integration (TCP Server) is enabled and that BYN has been restarted and is connected with the camera.

I would refer you to Software Bisque software support for answers to questions about how to configure TSX to connect with BYN. However, it may be possible that the connection method refers to BYE rather than BYN. Both products would use the same designation.

You also need to make sure the port number in BYN is the same as in Sky-X. You may need to restart BYN after making any changes in BYN because the TCP server is started at application Startup.

However, you say you have no option in Sky-X to connect to your D810.... at this point you should contact Sky-X.... this maybe the source of your issue in the first place.
