Info / Error Message -System.drawing.bitmap' Does Not Contain A Definition For 'resize

MartinBaker

Question

Hi folks

I wonder if someone can help please.

I've downloaded v3.1.2 - which worked well, & it runs fine, thanks Guylain.

Except when taking snap images with "frame & focus".

It then shows an info message

"System.Drawing.Bitmap' does not contain a definition for 'Resize"

& does not save the snap image. It does display it though.

I'm using win 7 x64. The camera is an EOS 1100D. I've tried my 50D and got the same result.

The BYEOS setup points at all the correct folders for downloads, as its saving other images.

I haven't tried planetary.

Going back to v3.0.3 & trying both cameras again produced saved & displayed snap images.

I haven't found another thread about this, so I'm wondering if it's my windows setup.

Just tested on a second PC with the same results. - strange.

the log file is attached for Guylain to read.

Any thoughts appreciated

regards

Martin

For the record I see the same thing and was working around it using real images. It was annoying but not life threatening. I was working one something else today and saw this behavior in day light and looked up this thread.

I will wait for the next release and I am sure it will fix the problem.

I'm happy I delayed reporting this issue long enough for you all to have found the answer. As usual I assumed I was doing something wrong.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks

Bob

Okay, I found something odd and I've put a try catch around the few lines of code I believe are at fault and I log them.

Send me at email to support@otelescope.com and I will send you a download link to run a few tests.

This looks like the behaviour I'm seeing. I thought it was down to me having BackyardTEMP defined as D:\BackyardTEMP but having reverted the settings I get the same. I take a snapshot and although the file appears in BackyardTEMP\Download I get the "System.Drawing.Bitmap" error:

Hi Guylain

Sorry - no fix. with the download 312b

I cant send you a snap image because it doesnt make one to send to the PC.

As you see below theres a message that says imaging session completed successfully

then the error message.

On screen the view appears to be a freeze frame of of when the camera fires

this is a cut & paste from the view log history -

15:11:38  Attempting to connect camera...
15:11:38  Canon drivers 'Canon\' initialized.
15:11:41  Camera Not Found!  Make sure it's connected to the PC and turned ON :)
15:11:48  Attempting to connect camera...
15:11:55  Canon EOS 50D CONNECTED!
15:12:15  Imaging session started.
15:12:21  Imaging session completed successfully
15:12:29  'System.Drawing.Bitmap' does not contain a definition for 'Resize'

-just thought - I'll put a card in the camera & see if it records to that.

Go to settings and check "Save Snap Images", this will save snap images.

Send me both the snap image and the corresponding full log file.  The log files are located in "My Pictures\BackyardTEMP\logs".

Thank you

Couldn't remember how to set the camera card as the save destination.

So just checked the BackyardTEMP folder. They are going into the download sub folder.

but not with the selected name. just IMG_0006.JPG or .CR2

I'll send the image to your email you sent me.

cheers

Hi Guylain,

I don't know if you have resolved this issue yet or not, but I have the same issue when trying to take snaps in Frame & Focus

BYE     3.1.2

OS       XP SP3

.Net     4.0.3

Canon 600D un modded.

Save Snap images set is ticked

Directories set to default i.e.   C:\Documents and Settings\owner\My Documents\My Pictures\BackyardEOS and BackyardTEMP in same default location

If I set Image quality to In Camera then I get the files in the BackyardTEMP\Download folder with the original names as IMG_9001.cr2, IMG_9001.jpg etc.

Otherwise no files are transferred from the camera.

The image displayed in Frame and Focus does not change.

When using normal image capture the files are saved to the appointed/default folder with appropriate names  - no issues there.

Using BYE 3.0.3 both Frame & Focus and Imaging work without issue.

I have done framing with 3.0.3 and switched to 3.1.2 for imaging but switching back to 3.0.3 usually requires a reboot.

Hope this helps

I can send log files if required.

Thanks

Steven

Seeing that there is additional activity in this Thread, AND having my DSLR already setup on my Table...

I've performed a couple of simple tests.

(BYE3.1.2 Premium, 60D)

I too, see the same "'System.Drawing.Bitmap' does not contain a definition for 'Resize'" error message for Frame&Focus Snap Images

I have confirmed however, that the Snap Image (named simply IMG_000#.*) is saved in the Download subdirectory - apparently before this message is posted.

11:19:32  Attempting to connect camera...
11:19:32  Canon drivers 'Canon\' initialized.
11:19:34  Canon EOS 60D CONNECTED!
11:19:50  Imaging session started.
11:19:58  Imaging session completed successfully          <<----  Snap Image with "Save Snap Images=Unchecked" - no Image saved
11:27:15  Imaging session started.
11:27:21  Imaging session completed successfully          <<----  Snap Image with "Save Snap Images=Checked" and "SaveTo=Camera" and Image "Quality=RAW"  - IMG_0001.CR2 saved in Camera1\Download
11:27:22  'System.Drawing.Bitmap' does not contain a definition for 'Resize'
11:30:01  Imaging session started.
11:30:10  'System.Drawing.Bitmap' does not contain a definition for 'Resize'
11:30:10  Imaging session completed successfully          <<----  Snap Image with "Save Snap Images=Checked" and "SaveTo=Camera" and Image "Quality=In_Camera" (and Camera Menu set to "RAW")  - IMG_0001.JPG saved in Camera1\Download

If you wish to add me to your "Test Version" distro...

Could be related.

Go to Settings and set the image quality to "In-Camera" and make sure the camera is set to take RAW only.  BYE will no longer change to jpg when taking snap images.

Do you still have the same issue?

Hi Guylain

I've run some tests this morning using 3.1.2 & my 50D.

Using the " in camera settings" I get the same error message.

Hopefully this table will show the results

Mode - Imaging

Camera setting             Capture result            Preview result

RAW                                RAW image             RAW image

RAW + m JPG                 RAW & m JPG         JPG

m JPG                             m JPG                     m JPG

Mode - Frame & Focus                  Snap

m JPG                                            Error message & nothing saved.

RAW + JPG                                           -- // --

RAW                                                     -- // --

I was going to say the snap image is  displayed on screen & can be taken to full screen size using the full screen icon.

I'm not sure thats the case though.

It appears to be a frozen live view.

If I do not go back to live view & take a second snap, & move the camera,  nothing changes on the screen image.

The error message is given & nothing is saved.

Confusing the heck out me.

I'll run a windows update & see if there's something I'm missing file wise thats not at the latest state.

many thanks

Martin
