My comments assume that issue relates to images that are captured via the Imaging screen, not Frame & Focus or Planetary screens.

I think that we need more information about how you have configured BYE. Does your specified download folder exist and can you create files and folders in it? Is your computer a fast multi-core machine, or an old, slow netbook or Pentium?  What version of Windows? 32 or 64-bit?

Downloaded images are always transferred from the camera to the BackyardTEMP/Download folder and then moved to whatever folder is specified by your Download folder and sub-folder configuration, after BYE has updated the files.

There is typically a delay between the time that an image has been downloaded from the camera and when it is available in the final location.  The post-download work is done on a background thread to minimize the delay of the start of the next exposure.  The flow may be different depending on the length of the exposures.  Are your exposure times greater or less than 30 seconds?

As a test, you could check "Skip READ Exif data" and "Skip WRITE Exif data" settings on the Advanced Settings dialog to see if that changes your symptoms. Historically, some users have had issues with BYE trying to update the Exif data in the image files and this has fixed them.

Let us know what you figure out.

Thanks for the suggestions - per your questions:

- This is a very fast laptop (Intel i7 x4 @2.4GHz with 24GB RAM and SSD).

- Windows 8.1

- Folder exists, I have created other files in the folder

- Skip WRITE was already selected.  I selected Skip READ as well and still have the issue.

HOWEVER, running the program as Administrator fixed the problem.  Not sure why, though.  Looking into that now.  Likely my old friend UAC.

I would need the backgroundworker log as that is the one responsible for copying the files

However, it looks like you found the culprit, a permission issue.

If you reset the download folder to the default one do you still have the issue?  If no then for sure you need to look at permission for your selected folder.

Regards,

Background worker logs attached - I tried initially with the default folder and it didn't work, so I switched to the one you see in my config to see if that would fix it.

By the way, disabled UAC and that didn't fix it.  I can run as Admin for now, happy to do further testing if that helps you.

These files are empty, they did not process any image files.

I would need the backgroundworker logs from when the error occurred.
