Unable to sign in to BYNikon

Question

I did obtain my password and using the correct Identifier but I keep getting the message;  "Additional non-parasable characters are at the end of the string".

I have tried to re-enter my pass word and identifier numerous times but still unable to validate the program.. Has anyone had similar problem.

Thank you,

Bruce

Not sure what you mean by password.

When you purchase you get a software activation key and an identifier.

I'm assuming you mean software key... as it appears in "My Purchases -> Orders".

There is only one reason for the error you stated, it is that you are not entering your key/identifier properly.  The most common mistake is that people try to key it in manually and inadvertently make mistakes. The letter O and the number 0 can look alike sometimes, so does the letter I and the number 1.

The best and only way to enter your key/identifier to prevent mistake is to use cut&paste.

I meant License Key.  Yes, I did cut and paste.  I have learned over the years this is the only way to reduce copy errors. However, the error I now receive is that it is an incorrect Lic key for BYNikon.

Thank you

Well, now at least it is entered properly since you now get a different error.

You get that error because of exactly what it says.  You requested a BackyardEOS trial key but you downloaded BackyardNIKON.  They are not same.

If you have a Canon camera please download BackyardEOS and use that key.

If you have a Nikon camera, please add BackyardNIKON trial edition in your cart and proceed to checkout to get a BackyardNIKON key, and use that key with BackyardNIKON.

Yes, It did load and I was able to open BYNikon.

I hooked up my Nikon D850 by USB 3.0  to my mac USB.  I am using Parallels and Windows 10.  My Nikon D850 is tethered by USB 3.0 to my mac USB.  I know the camera is connected because I can download images to LR or Dropbox.  However, BYNikon cannot seem to find the Nikon D850 camera.  I have very few images on the card and full battery charge.    I have turned the camera off and on.  I have looked thru all the setting but I cannot seem to find the problem.  Any directions on this?

Thank you

Looks like windows is set up to see the camera as a storage device. It needs to see it as an imaging device for BYN to see it.

EDIT: Since you are using parallel, does Windows even see the camera.  You said yo can copy files, but is that form MAC or Windows?

Make sure that you browse/search the BackyardEOS and BackyardNikon forums on this site looking for the keyword "PARALLEL" and/or "MAC" to find the numerous postings made by other Users who presented similar issues before they successfully setup BYE or BYN under MacOS and Parallels.  Several of them were good enough to report back the Tricks and Issues which they had to overcome.  (Note: Don't be concerned about "Nikon" vs "Canon" while doing your Searches, as the common thread is their efforts to use Parallels.)
