BackyardNIKON BETA 02h is ready for download.

admin

Question

BackyardNIKON BETA 02h is ready for download.

This release is almost identical as 02g with the exception that in has an extended beta tester license valid up until second half of February.

Please see the download section for link and change log.

This BETA 02h will NOT overwrite your current BETA 02g installation.

PLEASE REPORT ISSUES using BETA 02h in this thread.

Thank you,

The Downloaded File is named Beta 2H, but the Download Posting in the Forum references it as Beta 2H.

Not being a Nikon DSLR User (although I have friends with Nikons), I don't have both files to do a comparison...

I'm not sure I understand?  It says Beta 2H on both as per your post.

EDIT: Never mind, I see what you mean now.  It is fixed :)

Thanks again.

I am having issues downloading the image from the camera to the PC, I am using a Nikon D5100 shooting, RAW in manual mode (BULB). Any ideas on what could be causing the issue? Oh also I have a memory card inserted with zero images on it.

Thanks! And here is my log file...

21:37:17  Licensed to BETA TESTER (support@otelescope.com)
21:37:19  Nikon drivers initialized.
21:38:28  Attempting to connect camera...
21:38:29  D5100 CONNECTED!
21:38:56  Imaging session started.
21:42:17  Image download timeout, process terminated after 159 seconds
21:45:41  Image download timeout, process terminated after 159 seconds

Ok, about a month or so ago I asked and your response was:

"From the error log you sent me the issue seems to be that the D3 and D3s do not create seekable memory stream data from live view and therefore can not be read to reconstruct the image. I'll try another method to transform the non-seekable stream into a seekable stream.  Once I succeed at that I think/hope the live view stream will work."

So, just to refresh for you, I used 2 different D3s' and 2 different PCs. No joy.

Hi Kevin,

Oh yeah, I remember now... drum roll... still no joy... I have a hard time figuring this one out without a camera on hand :(

I understand. Anything I can do to help diagnose it (well, short of sending you one of D3s'  B) )?

LOL, oddly enough about 2 years ago a user sent me his T4i to run a few tests... he had to buy back is camera on ebay... just kidding, the camera was returned the next week :)

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately I make money from mine and one heck of a time just trying to send them in on a regular basis for a clean and check. I also have a couple of D300s that I could loan you, but you have those working...  :)

Got the hardware side of the motorized focuser together as seen here https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7563/16159177139_466d49ebe9_m.jpg.

Still haven't run it all together so I expect some tweaking of positions, etc.

Once I get it finalized I'll post a disassembled version and list out all the parts.

One piece of equipment I needed was a drill press to make this, which I always wanted anyways.
