Netbook running Linux?

Has anyone had success running BYEOS on a laptop running Linux with a Windows emulator?

I recently bought a used netbook (big mistake) to do my astronomy stuff on.  It is very under powered for the Windows version which is on it and hangs a lot.  Looking to salvage it for this purpose. Any ideas?

It's rather unlikely that you'll have success, unless this Windows Emulator can successfully support the Windows .Net 4.5 environment.

 

But, if you give it a try and succeed, please make sure that you post details...

I chickened out on loading the Linux.

I just stripped Windows 7 to the bone and got about 30% of the 1gb of onboard Ram back from programs running in the background.  It is running much better now.

That should work, although you'll also have to add PHD2 and confirm your remaining RAM...

(You may want Guiding / Dithering - even though its less effective with an SE Mount than an EQ Mount...)
