There is often a lag between when a camera is released by Canon and when it is supported by BYE. First, Canon needs to add support for the camera into their Software Development Kit (SDK). Then a BYE user with that camera needs to try to connect, and provide model number information back to the BYE developers who need to make a few code tweaks and release a new version of the software.

You will find that the archived messages in this forum have a wealth of information. Consider this thread from a couple of months ago --> 

The user found that the T8i mostly works. The biggest issue is that the T8i provides CR3 raw image files and the tool used by BYE to create TIFF files is unable to read CR3 files. This issue would also be present with other cameras that provide CR3 raw image files.
