Hi, same question here.

I am using Virtualbox with Win10Pro on my MacbookPro (High Sierra). Virtualbox is free and this configuration seems to work fine with my EOS 100D. Both works, EOS Utility and BYE. For Virtualbox, you need to install the Extension Package to support USB2 and USB3 while the VM is powered down (not sleeping, suspended or even running!). This is all very straight forward. Almost Plug&Play.

AFAIK, Wine & Crossover have poor or no USB support.

Would love to have a native macOS version.  Having issues with Nebulosity 4.2 and the EOS support. So I opted for BYE, which is a great software, but you need some type of VM.

I want to attempt to get BYE to work under Wine/Crossover for Mac.  Other than .NET, are there any other dependencies on windows DLL's that need to be accounted for?

Hi, have you had success in using BYE with Wine?

Peter,

If you are a BYE licensee, then what you probably like about it is the elegant user interface that simplifies the complex operations surrounding DSLR image capture.

According to Microsoft, ".NET Core is a cross-platform version of .NET for building websites, services, and console apps."

I don't see any mention of any desktop user interface technology beyond console apps.

BYE and BYN use custom Windows user controls to support the user interface.

None of this is portable to other the operating systems that are supported by .NET Core.

Sorry.

Just curious - this said it would be difficult to make a Mac version because BYE is a .NET application, but if you upgrade it to .NET Core, that should make it portable to Mac, no?

No, there is more to it like ASCOM and SDK support.  There is no such thing as an update to core, it's still a full rewrite.
