BYEOS 3.1.18 No Camera Drivers to Select

donusn

Question

Downloaded 3.1.18 successfully, but had to go back to old version last night to image.  There are no drivers in the "select your camera" start up window.  How do I get my T5i loaded? Never had this with older versions.  Note, I am not exactly computer literate, so will need some step by step help to get this resolved. Thanks.

Thanks, but I am too stupid or something.  In Windows 10 I uninstalled BYEOS 3.1.18, restarted, then downloaded the program (3.1.18) again, and got the same results.  There is no other "reinstall" option in Windows 10 that I can discern.  Perhaps I need to go to an earlier version.

Thanks - tried that and failed.  Gave up and went back to an old version.  I spent lots of time uninstalling, reinstalling, using different folders, rebooting and nothing worked.  Probably easy to fix if you are computer literate (at least Windows literate), but I am not.  Tried it on two different laptops with same results.

Hello.....

I had the same issues with my system tonight, seen there was a update, downloaded it, installed, and because i am a computer repair tech (20 years under my belt) I restarted the laptop..... a habit I started back in the windows 95 days... saves a lot of frustration.

Same issue with no camera driver available ,  also when I clicked on settings I got a warning box for an unhandled exception.  un-installed and again rebooted laptop.

Checked C:\Program Files (x86)\BackyardEOSv3.1  and found the folder and files were still there?????   I do not know why windows did not remove the files,  So I moved them to my desktop (click and drag).

Ran the install again and when I ran the program the camera options were available.

Disclaimer:     Computers are nothing more than buckets you pour chemicals (programs) into,  Sometimes there is a boom, Fortunately most people done get hurt then that happens with a computer.

Good Luck

Please try 3.2.0 pre-release, I changed a few things in the installer.

When the authors released BYE 3.1 they changed the licensing scheme. For version 3.0 the purchased key was a multiline key that you were responsible for maintaining. With version 3.1, they maintain the key and all you need to remember is the logon credentials that you used to purchase the license. The 3.1 key is available from the My Purchases area of your profile once you are logged onto this web site. If there is no key, then you must have used a different account when purchasing your license.
