D800 not imaging - getting session cancelled

linuslorba

Question

Hi,

I rented a Nikon D800 to test it out, as my regular Nikon was in for repairs. However, I'm getting an error, log history shows this:

09:28:16  Licensed to linuslorba
09:30:03  Attempting to connect camera...
09:30:04  Nikon/D800 drivers initialized.
09:30:06  D800 CONNECTED!
09:30:38  Imaging session started.
09:30:40  Imaging session cancelled
09:30:40  [kNkMAIDResult_NotSupported] (kNkMAIDCommand_CapStart, 17, kNkMAIDDataType_Null, 0)
09:30:42  Imaging session cancelled

I have BYN version 2.0.10 Premium Edition

Thanks,

Sunil

What if you perform a factory reset on the camera?

Another user had the same issue which they solved by turning off mirror up. Here is their post:

If your issue persists, it may be helpful to have the complete log of the session. Follow the instructions in the post that is pinned near the top of this forum to submit the log file.

Maybe you try to save to camera's sd card in bulb mode? BYN don't allow to save to sd card.

Have a look to my post as i have a D800 too :

Cheers,

Guys,

It was the 'Mirror Up' that was the problem!

Thank you for your suggestions. I remember the guy in the camera store saying he was setting it up that way for my convenience since I'd told him I was doing astrophotography with it.

Problem solved.

Thank You, & Muchas Gracias!

Sunil

Awesome, A+++.
