Question

From the help file I gather that a TEMPerHUM device allows the temp and humidity to be added to the exif data.

Is there any practical advantage to this data being held or further analysis that can be performed at the moment?

The practical use is that this data is then available to the Imager who might become aware/concerned to check for Dew Formation on his Optics, or as another field that can be added to the Filename so that later Inspections could consider whether an Image showed signs of Degradation due to Dew.

For any Nikon Cameras which don't expose the Sensor Temp, the TEMPerHUM data serves as a proxy for that data too.

Why wouldn't "Imager" be a noun ??  Would you prefer "Photographer", even though the result pursued is ultimately an Image as opposed to a Photograph ??

In any case, it is up to the "Operator" to monitor the TEMPerHUM data values.  BYE/BYN has no Notification capabilities - other than the audible Low Battery Alarm.  (Besides, many of us Image at rather remote Dark Sites which have no Cell Service or other WiFi access...)
