Invalid Identifier after Trial Licence Expired

Gerald Kennedy

Question

I installed a trial version of Backyard EOS on a new laptop. The trial expired . I have decided to install a permanent license but when prompted , it says my identifier is invalid. I have already purchased EOS premium and I can log into my account , no problem.

There is no option to allow me my valid license  key.  Any suggestions?

Then you are not entering it as it appears in "My Purchases -> Orders".  This is only one case where this error popup up and you either did not enter the key or the identifier correctly.  Please use cut&paste to ensure you enter it as-is.

BTW, what is the exact error you get because there is no such error that says your identifier is invalid on it's own without any mention of the key as well.

Keep us posted.

I simply put in my name as the identifier. The screen shows the 30 digit license code, and the identifier should be  my  name.(I hope)

When I put my name in, (and ask to validate)   I get " license validation error. This trial has expired".

I was thinking is I put in a wrong Identifer (by accident)  for the download trial  , but your reply suggests that I can't do that.

You have a purchase key under "My Purchases -> Orders".

Why are you using a trial key?  Use your purchase key.   The message "This trial has expired" is a telltale that you are not using your purchase key.

PS: Thank you for not posting your key here on the public forum... yeah, some people do that.

OK, I  used a trial license because I couldn't find my purchase license.  I have now found it.

But now , I don't know how to get the software to operate. My "identifier" still has the "invalid"  error message.

I was only going to use my laptop on 2 weeks of holidays.  Boy, this is complicated. (and it's probably on me}

You need to copy the licence key and the identifier exactly as they are displayed on the My Purchases screen and enter them into the license validation dialog in the BYE or BYN. The best way to do that is to swipe across each of the text strings and copy the data to the clipboard then immediately paste the data into the correct field of the validation dialog. Do not try to manually type them.

There is 0 guess work here.  Your key and Identifier are both displayed one underneath the other in "My Purchases -> Orders".  Cut&Paste them as-is.
