Second Computer Installation

cjcj1949

Question

I've installed the trial version on my main computer and started to use it. I then transferred the download to my laptop so I can use it outside. The problem I have is that validation fails. I have uninstalled byeos from my main computer, but I can still not get the new installation validated. Is there anything I am doing wrong?

There is no problem installing BYE or BYN on multiple computers as long as you only use it on one computer at a time. You do need to validate the Trial license on the second computer again, however. Usage on multiple PCs is detailed in the End User License Agreement which you can view by clicking on the ? button at the top right end of the BYE or BYN menu bar.

99% of validation errors are due to one of 3 usual causes...First you are trying to use a different O'Telescope.com username (the Identifier field) than what you used when you purchased your license. Second, you are trying to transfer the license key by manually typing it in rather than using copy and paste. Or third the laptop does not have a working Internet connection. The Trial license requires an Internet connection to validate that the Trial license has not expired. A purchased Classic or Premium license does not require an internet connection to function.

Thanks for the reply.  I did not realise that typing in the key would not be allowed.I have viewed the End User Agreement. I have been trying to validate the second installation. I am using the same username and the laptop does have an internet connection.

Using the same key on a second laptop is not different that the first laptop.

You download on the the second laptop and you use the same key/identifier.  Your key/identifier are stored here on the website under "My Purchases -> Order".

There is no need to uninstall the first laptop to install on the second.

I hope this makes sense.

Regards,
