BYN 2.0.10 Trial

MichaelJP

Question

Trying to initialise but keep getting  "Could not find any recognisable  digits"" Have tried copy & paste etc.  Then looking through here find that I cannot Trial out in the field anyway. Bit like going for a test drive in a shiny new car that is limited to sitting in the drivers seat in the showroom.

Think I have wasted a lot of time.

Michael Pressey.

Please don't blame the authors for trying to protect their intellectual property from people who would try to steal if from them. This is the reason for requiring an internet connection when using the trial license.

You should be able to verify much of the functionality of BYN at your home, where you have an Internet connection. This will also allow you to familiarize yourself with the operation of BYN while looking at internet-based tutorials.

Just put a lens on the camera and connect the camera to your laptop. You should be able to verify the functionality of:

1) familiarize yourself with navigation and configuration of the program
2) adjust the program's settings for your needs
3) test and resolve connecting BYN to your camera
4) test LiveView and snap images in Frame and Focus mode
5) create and execute a capture plan
6) create a short video, even it if is not of a planet

These are the basic functions that will determine the usability of the program for your imaging efforts. And by doing the testing at home you can ask questions about the operation of the program from the community of experienced users. That way you won't be frustrated like you would be if you are away from an internet connection at a dark sky site and have issues with the program that cause you to waste a dark night.

Once you have verified that the program works as designed you can make an informed purchase decision and once you have applied a purchased license to the software, the requirement of the internet connection goes away.

If course if you have a cell signal at your dark sky site you could always use your phone as a WiFi hotspot to allow the trial version of BYN to communicate with the internet through your phone.

Got your print screen, thank you.

Looks like you have entered 2 lowercase letter L in the 3rd segment, they should be number 1.

Use cut&paste instead of typing it in to prevent typing errors.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Not sure what you mean.  Did it work this time?

Yes it did work, could have explained Myself better,  The message received after entering the correct PO code was"Validated "rather than " could not----------" and the program installed correctly.

Thank You for the follow up & sorry for delay in reply ( been out of town).

Regards MJP.
