Bulb mode does not release shutter

Question

Backyard EOS version 3.1.17, Canon 400d xti.  USB attached.  No serial port on camera.  Works fine when when a specific shutter time is chosen in capture plan but if bulb is selected the shutter will not release.  If I manually trip the shutter while the timer is spinning then it works.  Any suggestions?  I have considered getting a timed remote bulb but in addition to the added expense I would have to sit by the camera and perform each shutter release.

Thanks,

Joe

If you look at Used Canon DSLRs, avoid the T4i and the M series.  As always, check for compatibility and supported features on the Supported Cameras page.

Thanks, I am currently looking at the 77D.
