Timeout During Download

Trying out free trial. First two times worked fine. However tonight it kept timing out when downloading image after capturing.Cannon 6D Mk2. Backyard EOS v 3.1.16

Time out is usually a camera internal error.

Give us more detail about your settings?  Are you taking BULB images?  TV Images less 30 seconds?  Is the camera dial set to "M", "B", etc...

If your issue is with your Canon camera and BYE, then in the future please post to the BackyardEOS Forum. And rather than use your username as the subject, choose something meaningful to others like "Timeout During Download".

Used Bulb >30s and TV <30s  in BYE with dial on camera (B and M) reflecting this. Different ISOs 1200 -1600 range. Mirror Lock enabled.  White Balance - daylight. Long and ISO Noise Reduction off.  Picture Style - Standard. Aspect ratio 3:2.  RAW and JPEG. USB connected. Save to PC. anything else?

Did notice that the temperature reading, mirror lock status is no longer showing in the Camera Information Centre.

Turn off mirror lock and try again.

I would turn off mirror lockup and I would update to BYE 3.1.17 RC4 from the Pre-release download area.

Now getting License Fault Error. Key has expired, been deactivated or hasn't been activated.

Yeah, trial keys also have an internal _count_.  It can only be started 20'ish times, I forget the real number.  It's rare that someone gets this limit but if you're doing a lot of testing it is possible.

I can cancel your trial key and this would allow you to request another key but since you're had 2 trials already the 3rd one may not work... if it does not I'll need to do a remote login to re-seed it.

Let me know what you want to do.

It was strange just before it expired, I tried another USB cable and it was downloading ok. Back on the old cable with new key and is downloading images OK. Maybe coincidental.
