First, if you have an issue with BYE and your Canon camera, please post it in the BackyardEOS Forum.

Second, for the benefit of other users who may have a similar issue, please state your issue in the Subject of your post.

Third, please tell us the version number and license of BYE that you are running. For example "Version 3.1.16 with a Premium license".

Then, please describe the exact steps to re-create your issue with as much detail as possible.

Your problem description "as soon as I connect my canon 600D the camera connects but the program instantly turns the camera off" is somewhat confusing. Turning the camera off is accomplished by using the on/off switch on the camera body.

When you talk about "connecting the camera" do you mean plugging the camera to the PC or do you mean clicking on the Connect button in BYE?

The LCD display should go dark when the camera is plugged into the PC. This is normal Canon behavior. BYE will be able to connect with the camera. The T3i is a popular model.

If you have not read the User Guide, please familiarize yourself with the basic operation of BYE and how to Connect it to your camera.
