Upgrading to Newer Version of BYE Premium

Hi, I bought BYE Premium way back last November of 2014 and after dabbling in astrophotography for a few months, I got busy with work and had totally set aside all my astro equipment and it's only at the start of this year that I thought of going back again to this hobby. However, my BYE is now the old version and my old laptop is now very slow, so I wish to now upgrade to the latest version on a newer laptop that I'm now using. Can I just download the new version and still use the same license key that I have? If not, appreciate your help on how I can upgrade my BYE to the latest version. I do believe the upgrade is free, right? Thanks very much for your help!

You probably need to upgrade.... instructions here... scroll down and select the upgrade tab... follow the instructions that applies to you.

First, Premium is your license. It has nothing to do with your version which is a 2 or 3 part number, like 3.1.16.

Since you are allowed to install BYE on more than one PC it should be no problem to download the latest version. I would suggest downloading BYE 3.1.17 RC3 from the pre-release download area.

Then follow Guylain's link above to the upgrade instructions. What you have to do depends on which version of BYE you had previously. If your older version was 3.0.x or earlier you will need get a new license, but there is no cost. I believe that you need to contact Guylain directly to get the new license...DO NOT post your license as part of a post anywhere on this site.

Thanks Astroman133 and Admin. I've been able to get a new license key already. I just went to the BYE download page and tried to purchase BYE Premium again but during checkout, I entered the first 29 characters of my old license key as a discount voucher to get the new version of BYE Premium at no cost, then right after checking out, I got a new license key to use on the new version of BYE Premium!

Again, the designation of Premium describes your license, and in no way describes your version of BYE. Whether you have a Trial, Classic, or Premium version of BYE the code is all the same, for a given release (version). The license is used to unlock or lock features.

So when you say "the new version of BYE Premium" what you should say is "the new version of BYE".

In your post you said "I've been able to get a new license key already". Then you talked about upgrading your old license to a new license. I hope that you did not get a second new license. This was unnecessary as you can apply the same license to multiple installations of BYE, as long as you only use 1 copy of the software at a time.
