Processing problems for 3.1.6 BYE

bbennekers

Question

Recently I noticed that BYE 3.1.6 classic edition has sometimes 'processing' problem and also when using frame & focus screen sometimes only has 3/4 screen or turns black without FrameFocus 'square'.

I use a Canon Rebel camera (after 2014), I installed BYE on 3/12/2016, did not have any problems till recently. A 500 frame file was lost, would not 'process', was 'waiting' for queue (I am sorry I don't have the correct messages any more, could not find in the log files either).  After closing the app and reopening it worked again, but the 500 frames were lost. Also as I noticed from another question, disconnecting wire from camera causes it to 'crash' or 'freeze'.

What is a 500 frame?

BYE does not, ever, delete a file.  So if the file was downloaded it is never lost.  It could still be in the BackyardTEMP folder.

Do you have Exif Write enabled?  Go to Settings -> Advance Settings and if it is check uncheck it and see if it happens again.

Actually, BYE's Planetary mode works by downloading individual JPG frames and after they are all down on your PC, BYE starts a process to combine the JPGs into an AVI file. If you look in the DownloadTEMP folder, the JPGs may still be there. Planetary processing software like RegiStax can work with the individual JPGs as well as the AVI file so you may not have lost anything.
