BYE startup in monochrome

i've had to reinstall BYE on a new laptop. When I open the desktop icon, BYE opens in monochrome only - no colour at all. Night vision sets it to red but back to black and white when I press daylight. Is this normal?

Yes, it is normal for the BYE daylight window color scheme to display as monochrome. This corresponds to the Daylight color of White (in the General area of the Settings dialog). You can change it to  any other value in the droptdown list.

Thanks for the reply. I noticed that the startup window which is displayed while BYE initializes is also in black and white. I remember this being in color on my other laptop (I think).  It seems odd but just so long as the new install is OK, I am happy.

The splash screen is only displayed in B/W since about 2 years.... though I can really remember the exact version I made that change.
