Canon 1100D connect

nevyoung

Question

Hi - downloaded trial but cannot connect. I get the message suggesting drivers.

I am using win8.1 on a 64bit laptop.

BTW - Having only just recvd the camera, I do not yet have a memcard for it, so that might cause a problem. But the camera is functional meanwhile - just cannot save images.

Thanks - Neville

According to the title of your post, your camera is an 1100D.

If you are saving your images to the PC, it should not matter that the camera does not have a memory card inserted.

Also, since you just downloaded the software I assume that the BYE version is 3.1.16...FYI, Trial is the license type, not the version. Please confirm the version number.

Can you provide more detail about the exact error message that you are seeing and what you do to cause the message. For example, you might say "I clicked on the Connect button, selected the Canon drivers, and got the error 'Camera Not Found!'"

Thanks!

It seems that I responded with a solution in a  post 'BYEOS 3.1.16 Premium Cant connect to Canon T7iS'.

For completeness here is the solution:

The solution in case it is useful to others was simply to use a better USB cable. Windows did not even see the camera to start with using the old cable, but with the better USB cable, the camera was seen immediately.

Hope this solution works for most of you having a connection problem.
