BYEOS 3.1.16 Premium Cant connect to Canon T7i

dustcloud

Question

Just purchased BYEOS 3.1.16 Premium but it does not connect to my Canon T7i.  I am using Windows 7 with a direct USB cable to the Canon T7i.  It says "Canon drivers"Canon\" initialized"  then "Camera Not Found!".

How do I get BYEOS to connect?

My camera is 1100D. The solution in case it is useful to others was simply to use a better USB cable. Win did not even see the camera to start with using the old cable, but with the better USB cable, the camera was seen immediately.

Hope this solution works for most of you having a connection problem.

There are dozens of posts in the archives of this forum with suggestions for solving connection issues.

The most important are:

1) Does Windows recognize the camera when it is plugged into the PC and powered on?

2) Does the Canon EOS Utility (downloadable from Canon or on the CD that came with the camera) connect with the camera? Since Windows 7 is older than the camera Windows may not have the correct driver. Installing the EOS Utility could fix this.

3) If the camera supports WiFi for downloading images it must be disabled for BYE to connect over USB.

Thanks for the quick reply. !  you set me on the right resolution path.

In answer to your questions..

1) No.  2) EOS was not installed on this netbook.  3) WiFi on the T7i was enabled.

So to get connected...

a) discovered USB could not connect to my Mac running EOS Utility3 (WiFi was fine).  found out my USB cord was for power only and missing data connects.   found a data USB cord that worked.

b.) downloaded EOS Utility3 onto the Toshiba netbook which took a second monitor to meet minimum screen resolution requirements.  Process installed .NET 4.5

c) confirmed that the T7i could now connect to the Toshiba netbook through EOS Utility3

d) BYEOS 3.1.16 now connects without a hitch :D

I am up & running.
