Settings for Dithering with Metaguide

astronut892010

Question

All,

I have been pleased with the integration with PHD2 and seamless dithering.  However, the guiding with PHD2 with my setup has been problematic.  I am having great success with Metaguide,  but cannot figure out how to configure Metaguide to dither with BYE 3.1.16.

Can anyone point me to the right settings in MG or BYE that I may be missing?

Thank you,

Jay

Then, I guess I do not need to upload a log since the evidence is in the subs themselves.  Each one varied slightly from the others in their location of stars which is the purpose of dithering.  I am much happier with the performance of MG so far as compared to PHD2.  Thanks for a great integration with your product.

I was just very confused with the nearly instantaneous change and cooldown of MG as compared to PHD2.  I would usually wait a minute or more for PHD2 to dither, then settle as compared to MG which is mostly the cool down.

Thanks,

Jay

Send me the log file.  I'll ask Chris to look at it since his the one that did the MetaGuide integration.

I will admit that not we have not had a lot of feedback on the Metaguide integrationg with users so it's been one of those features that is not getting a whole lot of exposure.

Thanks Rick. Unfortunately, the only one I have is 4MB while dithering.  I will try again to generate a shorter session with dithering to upload.  I went back and looked at the individual subs and it seems to be working properly.  I was just very surprised at how quickly MG dithers vs PHD2.

Thanks,

Jay

Oh yes, MG dithering is instant... almost.

Perfect, I'll mark this thread as solved then.
