Question

Hi

I'm heading to Death Valley to do some photography and BYE isn't connecting to camera tonight.

Setup

6D firmware 1.1.6

current battery show 86% full

EOS not started

tried:

- 15 ft with usb 3.0 powered hub - cant' connect

- 15 ft direct connect - can't  connect

- 6ft direct connect - can't connect

do I need a more current driver???

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Go in device manager and see if it is listed.

Another test you can run is try to connect it to EOS Utility.  I suspect it will not...and this will confirm (or not) that Windows may not see the camera.

99.9% of connection issues are usb cable issues (or usb connection not properly seated).

Hi

Now at death valley after driving through a minor blizzard, waiting for black ice to go away. God it's nice here, the stars are even brighter in between the clouds than in Seattle.

Anyway, I also grabbed at the last moment my Rebel XSi from mid 2000's, the bye works with that.

I have to go unpack the canon 6D.

At least I'll get some photography done, even though it won't be up to date hardware.

will hopefully be answer the rest before the hour.
