I've searched notebooks for some record of the license key but not finding it.   It's possible that I used the email "mikehbopp@yahoo.com' as account name.  I don't know how that helps me now.  Below is the error I get when trying to launch the application.  I've been using it for years on same computer.  So, baffled by the error.

This looks like the license file stored on your computer got corrupted somehow.

Try this; it should recreate the license key file again.

1) Go to c:/users/<<username>/AppData
2) Delete file "BackyardEOSv31-license.txt".
3) Start BYE
4) Enter your key again.

The AppData folder is a hidden folder; if you don't see it you need to make sure you have Windows setup to show hidden files and folders.

Keep us posted,

The file has to be there if you have ever activated BYE on this computer, that I'm 1000% sure about this.

However, upon looking at the error this seems more related to a configuration file gone bad, not the license file.

Install BYE in a different folder and I believe you'll be fine.

Okay, I've reinstalled BYE in a different folder, which now prompts me for the license key, which I have not saved anywhere.  My bad but just didn't think about this at the time.

No, I recently purchased BackyardNikon for camera2 but have used BYEOS on camera1 for several years, until corrupted few weeks back.  Only the newer purchase shows in my account.  Don't know why EOS is not there but that purchase was early 2014 timeframe.

Okay, send me an email to support@otelescope.com and we'll take it from there.
