Nikon D5000 and D5100

starrmann333

Question

I installed trial version 2.0.9 on my Win 7 desktop and was able to connect my Nikon D5000 via usb..yes I know the bulb feature will not work this way but that is not an issue at this point.

When I tried to connect the D5100 the camera was not found. Tried restarts and everything else. Still no connection. Decided to install BYN on my Win 7  laptop and connect the Nikon  D5100. Worked no problem but the Nikon D5000 will not connect to the laptop version.  I uninstalled BYN from the desktop machine and reinstalled it but it still had my user info and would only work with the D5000. I this an issue with the Trial version?  I need to be able to use several different Nikon cameras.

Yes I selected the right model and version for the cameras. They both have updated firmware and use the same usb cables. Both show up as a device in windows.

Is there a way of doing a "clean install" of BYN on my win 7 desktop? I am familiar with registry entries etc.   I think that may at least get the D5100 working on that machine.

Thanks
