Setting up without an internet connection

Hi, does anyone know how to set up a laptop that won't connect to the internet. I already have BEOS  on my other laptop but am trying to use an old one to drive a camera at the same time at an alternate location. Error message says trial key requires internet access.which I don't have. Any way forward?

Trials require an Internet connection at each BYE startup; there is no way around this and you can thank all those that tried to change their computer date hoping to get free trial for life... now the date check is against the server date and this is why an Internet connection is required.  

If you absolutely need it to run without Internet you'll need to purchase.

Thanks for quick response....i take that it will be ok when I purchase then. Just got a star party this long weekend and thought I would try out two set ups. Thanks again. Looks like I will be buying after a few weeks trial.

Jeff,

You will need to run the programme initially with internet access to verify the legitamacy of the programme and device but once done the purchased version will not require the internet connectivity, unless a Windows update breaks it (which I believe has happened once or twice in the past).

Hopefully Guylain can confirm this.

Right now the licensing server is still down so trial will not validate.  However, this has no baring on your question... I just want to reiterate the issue we are trying to fix right now.

Purchase keys do not need Internet access, never.  Windows can't mess this up.

What Windows does is mess up security profile which is some cases requires that you re-enter your key.  Still no internet required for this... unless you don't have your key/identifier stored locally on your computer of phone... in which case you'll need to login to the website to get your key and this is where you need Internet.... but validating a purchase key does not require Internet connection per say.
