Camera no longer found

Question

I just upgraded to 2.0.6.  I have a Nikon D7000 and DSUB.  Everything seemed to work fine.  Then I decided on the next start-up to select the box to remember the D7000 2015 setting.  The program locked up.  i could restart by forcing the window to close and then ending the task via the task manager.  Starting again, the camera was not found and I could not close the application normally.  Again I forced the application to close and used task manager to end the task.  I uninstalled 2.0.6 and reinstalled.  Same problem.  I have a second (new) computer that has never seen BYN.  I may try it there tomorrow.  Leaving soon for eclipse hope to have BYN working to sequence my images.  Would love to share some Rickard's Red with you.  See logs (and beer) below

Problem found!  I decided to reboot the computer again and start from scratch, reattaching all cables and checking camera settings.  For reasons unknown at that time everything started and the test cable function verified connectivity.  I then decided to take a trial image and made appropriate settings for the camera.  When I pointed the camera at an appropriate target across the room, the camera connection was lost!  Wiggling cables I found that the connection of the USB cable at the camera was intermittent.   So now I need to find a way to snug up that connection (gaffers tape maybe) or perhaps get a new USB to Nikon cable.  Thanks for your assistance.

The log file says that the "Camera Not Found!  Make sure it's connected to the PC and turned ON :)"

You said that you are using a DSUSB cable. This cable is only to allow BULB exposures. For other operations, like downloading images, setting ISO, etc., you also need a regular USB cable. So with the D7000 2 cables, in parallel, between the camera and the PC are required for full operation.

I am aware that two cables are necessary.  This worked just fine with the original version that I was using and also with the new version until I ticked the remember my selection and don't ask me again box in the camera selector window.  Then all of the trouble started.  The camera IS connected with both cables.  The camera is set to manual, focus is set to manual and the camera is on.

This looks like a Windows camera driver gone bad :(

Did you reboot your computer to see if this makes a difference?

Did you change SD card?  Do you have many images on the SD card?  If yes try an empty card.

(Dusting off an OLD Memory) I discovered Rickards Red as the "House Beer" of the "Old" Bev (Beverly Tavern on Queen St Toronto).  Working nearby, our staff would show up enmasse and commandeer the Big Table at the back of the Roof-top Bar.  We'd do Pitchers of "Rickets" and baskets of 10-cent Wings while watching the thunderstorms roll-in (taking bets whether the area would lose power and us drunken idiots would need to go back to the Office to reboot the "Mainframe").  This was the late-80s and early-90s.

Guylain, when are you going to get your Exporter's License so you can share Rickards and Sleemans and Creemore with the rest of us??
