D40X not connecting

I have been trying to connect to a D40x.  I had no problem updating the firmware on the D40X using a normal USB cable.  I have switched on Vista SP2 compatablity mode for the software. I am using version 2.0.6 of the software.  Any ideas?

Try the pre-release 2.0.7.RC2

It will never work.  The D40x is not supported.

Well go figure.. thanks... I did get Nikon camera pro 2 to work.  But it does not seem to do what I want it to do.  Oh hum...

Wait a minute... according to the log file you just send the D40X seems to be using the same drivers as the D40.  Although it may look obvious they it does it is not always the case even to similar model numbers.

Give an hour and I'll try something here.

Many thanks to Guylain!!!  It worked on my D40X.  WOW is this software great for programming this (relatively) old D40X!!  I never thought that would be possible.

The D40x was actually supported buy the SDK because it is actually using the same D40 sdk files so all I had to do was to register the D40x loneside the D40.

I've got the same issue here. Log says:

16:26:58  Attempting to connect camera...
16:26:58  Nikon2015/D40 drivers initialized.
16:27:00  Device(D40X) Module(D40) found!
16:27:00  PLEASE CONTACT US with the above information, looks like your we may need to make a few adjustment to fully support your camera.  We have our fingers crossed.
16:27:00  Camera Not Found!  Make sure it's connected to the PC and turned ON
