Capture plan

swingin

Question

It's only showing the top box in the capture plan, can not see any others, can not scroll to get the 25 boxes to show. I just installed the 2.04 update. I still have the 1.0 and it works fine, any ideas? Thanks. Just installed 2.01 and it works fine too.

Just installed 2.05 and now I can't connect. It says to open a support ticket. New battery, run as admin, tried both older model and newer D5200 updated Nikon model still won't connect.

The capture plan is now working though.. I can see 100 of them, just can't connect.

Is your license for the Classic or Premium version of BYN?

With BYE 3.1.11 Premium (the latest BYE release) I see 100 rows of the capture plan, although only the first row has an exposure count other than 0. For the other 99 rows the exposure count is zero but the controls in the other columns are disabled. I believe this is what Guylain intended. The Preview Capture Plan controls behave the same way. It's premium. I'm used to having at least 3 capture plans when I shoot, I only get 1 now and the scroll bar is not lit up like it is in the older versions. Actually I can barely see the top of the second plan, but not enough to see what I'm doing, or setting it at.

Your issue with BYN 2.0.5 unable to connect with your camera is different from the original post. You should create a new thread if the connection issue persists.

Also, You cannot see the capture plan on the imaging screen until you connect, so I would not report success for your original post until you have verified this.

Can you provide a screenshot?

Even if I drag the window to its minimum height I still see 5 rows in the capture plan.

Does the Capture Plan on the Preview screen behave the same way?

That's exactly the way it used to look before the 2.04 update. Now the box is just grey, as in can't do anything with it. I uninstalled it and went back to the 2.01. Thanks for the help.

Yes my laptop, Toshiba with win 7. D5200 if it matters. The capture plan box is not lit up either the way the 2.01 is so I have no options. I will just work with the 2.01 edition.

And it displays fine on all other computers?  Weird :(

This is what I get, besides the weird noise.

Make sure you have very few images on your camera memory card; otherwise it may take a few minutes to connect.  You can remove your card and see if it makes a difference.

2) Make sure the camera is turned on and the battery is fully charged.

3) If you are trying to connect a D40, D60, D80, make sure your are using the application in Windows Vista SP2 compatibility mode.

4) The D40, D50, D70, and D3### are not supported.  This is because Nikon does not have an SDK for these models.

5) If you are using a USB hub, remove it, connect the camera directly in a USB port on your computer and try again.

6) Turn the camera OFF and ON again to reset the SDK connection.

If you are still having issues please visit our support forum at http://forum.otelescope.com and open a support ticket.

Have you tried running BYN as Administrator? or with UAC, anti-virus, and firewall software temporarily turned off?

I don't know what UAC is, and no I've never had to run as admin. I'm going to install it on my desktop and see what happens next.

Just installed 2.04 on my desktop, still only 1 capture plan available. If I knew how to do a screen shot Id do it. I can barely see the second plan but not enough to use it and the scroll bar does not light up still. lol here ya go..

Thanks for the screenshot. A picture is worth...

Before connecting, does the Preview screen show the same abbreviated capture plan control?

UAC is User Account Control. it is a Windows "feature" that asks you to verify certain operations to make sure that you want to do them. It is designed to prevent a behind-the-scenes apps from taking over your system.

Does BYN behave the same way if you remove the lens before connecting?

I understand that all this troubleshooting is tedious, but there of hundreds to thousands of other BYN users who are not seeing this behavior, so troubleshooting at this point is to try to pinpoint what you are doing that they are not.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Preview screen shows the same abbreviated thing.

I don't have any restrictions on user accounts.

I get the same thing with lens removed before connecting.

I've also tried, run as admin, same thing.

Hmmm,

I guess this is something for Guylain to look at. There have been changes to the capture plan in recent releases. Perhaps an unintended side effect.

Thanks.

I appreciate all your help my friend! Thank you

That does not make sense.  Is this for both full screen and non-full screen?  If you resize the windows does it say like this too?

Regards,

Yep, both screens show the same.
