BYE 3.1.8 Premium Edition Crashed Again

JTWaters

Question

BYE crashed again under somewhat similar conditions as before.  I was stretching a sub while BYE was capturing an image.  See the URL below.

I managed to do a screen capture.

The log file is large.  Where can I post it?

Equipment
- Win 7 Pro with up to date patches
- Lenovo ThinkPan E440 with 16GBytes of memory
- BYE 3.1.8 Premium Edition
- 3 Meter USB Repeater Cable
- Canon 6D

This is a GDI error.  Sadly this is a deep in .Net and not BYE code.

It could be related to cross thread violation since the error is caused when .Net tries to render the image inside the .net picturebox control.

Go to settings -> advance settings and check the Processor Affinity checkbox; it may help.

According to the BYE User Guide, .NET 4.0 is required.

Some .NET versions are designed to be run side-by-side. For example .NET 3.5 contains enhancements to .NET 2.0, but you must also have .NET 2.0 installed.

On my Windows 7 PC I have several versions installed (2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.6).

I would say that if BYE runs that you have the versions of .NET that you need. So you just need to be sure that you have the latest patches to the different .NET versions.

What version of .NET should I be running?

If the application starts you already have the correct version.  This looks like an MS issue/bug.  Not much can be done other than ensuring your MS Update are up to date.

Try the processor affinity setting.
