BYN not connecting to D810a on HP 8540w

Kharan

Question

Hi,

I'm not getting a connection to my Nikon D810A with my HP laptop. It's dual boot, and I've tried both with XP and Win7. With XP the camera is visible in My Computer and with Win7 I get the USB detection sound when connecting. But BYN doesn't find the camera in either OS.

I've upgraded the firmware, using latest BYN, have tried both connect modes, verified that the camera and usb cable work on a desktop computer.

Any help?

br,

Kharan

Kharan,

Which version of BYN? You say "the latest" so I am expecting that it would be BYN 2.0.1.

Which driver set are you choosing when you connect? With upgraded camera firmware you must use the driver/SDK set for the newest cameras.

You should also make sure that the memory card in the camera is empty. If you have a lot of images on the memory card, connection with BYN will be delayed, while the Nikon SDK builds a list of the images in the PC.
