DSUSB and D90 Connection problem

Question

Hi from Germany,

 

i have a Nikon D90 and i have just purchased the DSUSB from Shoestring, sadly Backyard Nikon can no longer connect or find my camera.

 

before the DSUSB i could connect without any Problems.

 

i would be very gratefull if somebody could shed some light on my Problem.

Mark,

 

The DSUSB cable is only for shutter control. You still need to use the regular USB cable in parallel for LiveView display, parameter setting, image download, etc.

 

So for your camera you need two cables (DSUSB and regular USB) connecting your camera to the PC for full control, including BULB exposures.

Rick thanks for your help, yes it is now found in Backyard but im still unable to expose over 30 seconds.

i have the notice that a configured Serial cable is required, although the DSUSB is attached.

 

any ideas?

As Rick said, this is all documented in the user guide.

 

The short answer is...

1) Both cables needs to be connect to the camere

2) In BYN capture plan area -> you need to select DSUSB in the 'Cable Select" menu option.
