3.1Classic not recognizing Canon 1200D

asdg

Question

I started up my 3.1 Classic  after a few months and it does not connect to Canon 1200d anymore. Has something changed or is there a new update? I could not find anything on the download area.

Thanks for your help

There have been several updates of 3.1. They are all listed on the Downloads page for BYE. The latest release is 3.1.6. However none of them should "fix" your connectivity issue if your current version of BYE used to connect to the camera.

Your issue is likely pilot error, or a bad cable.

Is the camera in Manual (M on the rotary dial on the top of the camera)?

Make sure that both ends of the USB cable are fully seated into the connectors.

Does Windows recognize the camera when you first plug it into the PC? The camera should be listed as an Imaging device in the Windows Device Manager. If you don't see it there then BYE will not be able to connect to it.

Is the Canon EOS Utility able to connect with the camera?

If is does not connect anymore and us to then something has changed at your end, we need to figure out what.

As a sanity check, try EOS Utility and see if that works as Rick suggested.

Keep us posted,
