bias frames

Question

wondering how to take Bias frames as 1 second is the shortest exposure i can see

 

I am new to BYEOS but what a great software program!! I wish all the other astrophotography programs were as easy to use

no, not 1 second.

 

While it is true you are limited down to 1 second for bulb images this is not the correct setting for taking BIAS frames.

 

You need to select the fastest shutter speed; this would be 1/4000 or 1/8000 of a second depending on your camera.

 

Expand the "shutter" pulldown in the capture plan and you will see all available shutter speed beside BULB, select the last entry.
