Arconym for BackyardNIKON = BYN

admin

Question

As with BackyardEOS, I'm trying to establish a brand with BackyardNIKON.

BackyardNIKON is a mouth full and I will personally try to use its full name all the time.

However, if you feel like you need to use an acronym please use BYN, not BN or other.

Just like BYE became the defacto acronym for BackyardEOS, BYN should become the defacto for BackyardNIKON... but this can only become reality if we all agree it makes sense.

BYN = BackyardNIKON

Thank you

Guylain

I refuse to abbreviate it - and that practice caught me a bit of hell trying to reiterate that on another forum I'm on...

I'm perfectly fine with no abbreviation... I won't either...

But people will inadvertently find their own abbreviation so I might as well embrace it by providing a standard one :)

Good - BYN it is...

You can't dictate what other people are actually going to call it anyway.

When I am discussing BackyardEOS with someone who doesn't know what it is I use the full name (often so I can hyperlink to the web site) - when discussing it with someone who DOES know then it is always BYE.

I'm not sure that technically you can have a brand that includes someone else's brand within it but...

BackyardEOS = BYE

BackyardNikon = BYN

BackyardCCD = BYC

looks like a pretty coherent proposition.

BackyardNikon, BackyardNik, BYN ... Houston, we have lift off!

Actually, per Guylain's approach, I believe we are still in the Pre-Flight Tests.  One would hate to Reach the end of the Launch Countdown before knowing that the Rocket can not only achieve initial Lift-Off, but can actually reach Orbit with all the stages and components necessary to carry out the intended Mission...  (OK, stretched that metaphor rather far... :rolleyes:  )

(and, drop BackyardNIK out of that cadence...)

Okay ... I edited my post to remove the name that Guylain would prefer NOT to have associated with his endeavour.  I understand why after reading other posts, had no idea the negative connotation of the shortened word. Learned something new today.  I associated it with the ending of Sputnik and/or the webster definition of "a person connected to an activity, an organization, a movement, etc." and thought it rather novel.  I stand corrected and apologize for my over-excitement.

As for lift off ... just a perspective ... but it sure seems to me like BYN has more than fired it's rockets with great success and with a few tweaks will more than successfully circle the globe.  :)  I'm not opposed to changing the flight plan en route.  LOL
