Am I the only one?

Question

I am sick and tired of way too many fellow astrophotographers insisting that I stop using BYEOS in favor of NINA or the like. I don't care if NINA is free.

I push one button, and BYEOS does its thing. No scripts required. It serves every need I have . . . VERY well!

The "Hive-Mind" is WAY too proud of itself.

End of rant.

NINA is a Swiss Army knife. BYE is a scalpel. Either one can be the right tool for the job at hand. It all depends on the job.

A lot of imagers use multiple cameras and select one based on the target at hand. If you often use a CCD camera for monochrome imaging then it may be easier to use NINA for all your imaging since you only have to learn and use a single app for everything. However, with the advent of multi narrowband filters, you may find less longing for a monochrome camera. For me, the severe temperature changes during a night of imaging in the Sonora Desert required me to go to a cooled camera.

I say, if you are happy with what BYE is and does then by all means keep using it. It is a great app.

Good Luck.
