License validation

I've been using BackyardEOS for a few years now, including a week ago, and upgraded to premium last year.

When I tried opening the software today, a screen wanted to validate my license. The license key field was already filled in, but I needed to input my website account login name associated with the license key.

It would not accept this data. I wonder if it's looking for my basic license key, which I don't seem to have anymore, or cannot find.

Interesting. Version 3.5.0 open without any problem. Version 3.2.3 is asking for the validation that does not seem to work.

You're probably better off with 3.5.0 anyway.  Let me know if you need to get 3.2 working as well.

Really weird. I had PhotoShop (v5.0) running in the background. When I turned PhotoShop off, I could open v. 3.2.3 as well as v. 3.5.0.  A few minutes later, with PhotoShop still off, I tried to open v. 3.2.3 again, and got the same validation error again. Tried restarting my laptop, but that didn't help.

Version 3.5.0 opens okay. I sometimes use the 2nd camera function of the premium version, but clicking on that icon has the same validation error. Does V. 3.5.0 have a second camera function?

Short answer is yes, it does have dual camera function.

I removed the desktop icons, but the shortcuts are still installed in the installation folder, you just need to create the desktop shortcuts manually.

Found the dual camera in v.3.5.0  Now v.3.2.3 is working again after hooking up my camera to my laptop. I never before needed to have a camera connected to open the software.

Any reason why you created another account just to post in this thread? I ask because orbmanBYEOS has no purchase keys.

I have no idea. Was having a problem a couple of years ago when I couldn't find my license key for the basic version (wrote down the key for premium). If there's another login account for me, I don't know what it is. Had a major software crash a year or so ago, and had to do a system restart to an earlier date to get my computer running again. BTW, it was a function in Siril (openware astronomy software) that crashed my computer so badly. Is there a way to find out if I have another login name?

 

Just found an old email from 2023 with my basic version license key and user name "orbman" But the associated email address is no longer valid, and I don't remember the login password.

Just logged in under orbman on my laptop that had a saved password that I just changed, and it shows my purchases.

Problem solved. I was trying to validate license with username "orbmanBYEOS" and I should have been using "orbman"

Please delete this entire thread, and I will log in again on this computer using "orbman"

Doubly weird since orbmanBYEOS has a history of a couple dozen posts to this site. They probably created an account and purchased a license and then forgot that account and created a second account where they have made several posts.

If they privately give you their email address(es) can you find the other account?
