Just Upgraded to Classic

Question

Just upgraded to the paid Classic edition from the 30 free edition. When I load up BYE it shows my activation key but when I put in my OT username it comes up invalid.

How do I reactivate this to reflect the paid version and get this working.

Let me know if you need any info.

Thanks

Just so you know. This forum is supported by the community of BYE and BYN users, but the developers of those products also respond to questions/issues. I am a long time user of BYE and not otherwise related to O'Telescope.

I am not sure what you mean by "the 30 free edition". If I didn't guess correctly, please explain more fully.

If you mean version 3.0.x of BYE with a paid Classic license, then your license key is a long multi-line string that is no longer valid. However you can use it to get a new Classic license key that is good for version 3.1 and later of BYE. To get your 3.1 license key, follow the BYE License Upgrade instructions in the footer at the bottom if this web page. There is no cost unless you choose to upgrade the license from Classic to Premium. Check out the "Compare Editions" link in the footer to see if the new features that come with the upgrade are worth it for you.

If you already have a single line license for BYE 3.1 or later, then all you need to do is to transfer that license key from My Purchases -> Orders in the blue menu bar at the top of this web page into the BYE license validation dialog (Launch BYE 3.1 and click on the padlock icon at the right end of the BYE Title Bar.

If you do not see your version 3.1 license key after logging onto this web site, then it is likely that you have multiple accounts on the site and your license is under one of those different accounts. You must log in with the same username as you used when you bought your license key.

The easiest way to transfer a license key is to Copy (Ctrl-C) the key from the web page and Paste (Ctrl-V) it into the BYE license validation dialog. Then enter your login username as identifier in the license validation dialog. The Identifier field on the license validation dialog is case sensitive. This means that "smith00" and "Smith00" are not recognized as the same Identifier.

I hope this helps.
