Sorry, but do you mean that you are unable to use BackyardEOS after downloading it?

Here are the steps to get BYE up and running:

  1. Make sure that you are running Windows 8, 8.1, 10, or 11. Earlier versions of Windows are not supported by O'Telescope.
  2. Navigate to the BackyardEOS -> Supported Cameras page, via the link in this page's footer. Make sure that your camera model is listed as supported. Very old and very new camera models may not be supported. Proceed with the next step only after the previous steps have been completed.
  3. Download a recent release of BackyardEOS from this web site, via the Download item in the blue menu bar at the top of this web page and down the latest release of BackyardEOS. I would suggest either version 3.2.3 or version 3.5.0.RC7 from the pre-releases area (the 32-bit version, not the 64-bit version).
  4. Launch the BackyardEOS installer (the file that you downloaded) to install the application.
  5. Navigate your browser to the O'Telescope web site and log in to the site. Navigate to the Store and purchase a Trial license. The license is free and you will not be asked to provide a credit card to complete the transaction. Then click on MyPurchases -> Orders in the blue menu bar to find your license.
  6. Copy the license key to the Windows Clipboard (Ctrl-C).
  7. Launch the BackyardEOS application and click on the padlock icon at the right-hand end of the BYE title bar and click on the Edit License... button to launch the license validation dialog.
  8. Click on the license key field and paste your key into the text box (Ctrl-V).
  9. Enter your O'Telescope account username into the Identifier field. NOTE: If you used your email address as your username, that email address will be your username on this web site forever. Don't forget that!!!
  10. Click the Validate button. If the License and Identifier are validated, your installation is complete.
