Your post is confusing for the reasons asked by admin above.

It is not normal to open BYN by double-clicking on an image file (NEF, JPG, or TIF) file. The same is true for BYE (CR2, CR3, JPG, or TIF) file. There may be a way by modifying the Windows Registry directly to create the file association, but BYN and BYE would also have to support that.

However you can launch BYN or BYE from the Start Menu and then click on Preview and drag and drop an image file onto the Image Center area.

I just got this from the contact form. The support forum is the only support medium offered.

This said, it looks like you have been able to download the software, but now you are unable to activate it.

I have just tried your key and identifier, and I can confirm with 100% certainty that they are working, it validated for me. If you still have errors validating you are most likely not entering them correctly, use cut&paste to prevent keying errors.

What version of Windows are you using?

Older versions of Windows , like Windows 7 do not have the latest security enhancements that are required by the O'Telescope servers to validate your license.

Because Microsoft no longer supports Windows 7, O'Telescope has said that they do not support it either. You need Windows 10 or 11. Both of them come with Transport Layer Security that is required by the O'Telescope servers.

It looks like the OP downloaded BackyardNIKON 2.1.3 from the log files. This is the most recent version aside from the RC releases. His key is valid with that version, I tried it, tested it, and it worked.

I'm hoping the OP comes back to this thread to comment, he has started another thread and also has sent messages to the contact form, this makes it difficult to follow.

I agree. It would be useful to others if the OP of this thread kept us updated on his issues. His two issues seem to be 1) problems downloading BYN, and 2) problems validating his license.

Obviously, he got past 1) since he was able to get BYN installed. What was done to solve his download issue? Then, did he get the BYN license validated? Why is it that people who have these types of issues seem to bypass the benefit of the free Trial license?
