Two cameras same model

David.Crocker

Question

I want to run two Canon 6D’s at the same time with different setups. Can I do this by running two registered copies of BYEOS or is there a problem with being able to differentiate the cameras. Fall back position would be two computers. Not great but doable if it’s the only way.

You can do what you want, and it is simpler than you may think.

When you install BYE, you actually get 4 instances of the program. You can use any of all of these instances with the same license.

You can also run these instances independently, or they can be synchronized in a master-slave relationship as you might want to do if you had both cameras on the same mount and you wanted to dither between exposures.

So, you do not need two computers, nor do you need 2 licenses, nor do you need two copies of BYE installed (since they are already installed automatically).

Thank you for the information. I was concerned because I had seen a post, perhaps now old and outdated, that said you could run two cameras, but not two of the same model. Something to do with the operating system not being able to differentiate them. Since I have everything I need, I will give it a try.
