When you purchased the Classic license, the license key will be available under My Purchases -> Orders on this web site. You do not need to download and install the software again. All you need to do is to enter the Classic License Key into the license validation dialog of the existing software. This will permanently activate all the Classic features.

  1. Log onto this web site with the same username that you used to purchase the Classic license.
  2. Scroll to the top of the web page.
  3. Select My Purchases from the blue menu bar and then select Orders from the cascading sub-menu.
  4. You should see both the Trial License and the Classic license listed.
  5. Swipe across the entire Classic license key and press Ctrl-C to copy the license to the Windows Clipboard
  6. Launch your copy of BYE (or BYN).
  7. Click on the padlock icon at the right hand end of the title bar to launch the About dialog
  8. Click on the "Edit license..." button
  9. Click in the License Key text box and press Ctrl-V to paste the license key from the Clipboard.
  10. Enter your user name into the Identifier text box, making sure to keep the case of the letters exact.
  11. Click the Validate button.

That is it.

Caveats:

  1. Most important - Never post your license key as text or a screenshot to any public forum, including the O'Telescope forums.
  2. BYE is only supported on Windows 10 and later. If you are running an earlier version of Windows, like Windows 7, your license may not validate because Microsoft no longer provides security updates to those old versions.
  3. Do not try to type the license key by hand as it is too easy to mis-type the key. Use Copy/Paste instead.

Much of the above steps should be familiar since you had to do exactly the same steps to get the Trial license to work.

I hope this helps.

Let us know how it went.
