Using RAW files with AIP4Win

How do I convert RAW files produced by Backyard EOS into a form that AIP4Win will accept. It requires either RAW or FITS.

The .cr2 files from Canon's camera (and BYE for that matter) are RAW image files.

There are several image processing applications that can deal with Canon RAW (.CR2) files, including AIP4WIN.

 

The camera only downloads .CR2 or .JPG images. BYE will convert the .CR2 to .TIF, but does not create .FITS files.

You will need to look through the "AIP4Win v2.4.0 Supported Cameras" PDF, to see whether your Model is Supported (since you didn't state it in the OP).

 

Unfortunately, while it appears that v2.4.0 is the latest Update to AIP4WIN, the supported Cameras are all older than about mid-2010.

The 550D/T2i is supported, but not the 600D/T3i; the 50D but not the 60D.

 

If your Camera is newer than these, you'll have to look elsewhere for your AP Image Processing Software (which might not be a Bad Thing since such Software has far exceeded the Image Processing features of AIP4WUN).
