filter wheel : Have filter names displayed instead of numbers

jpettit

Question

Hi,

Currently when I use my filter wheel via BYE, I need to select the filter to have its name displayed. I would be nice to have the names of all the filters displayed, under the number selection (or maybe as popup when the mouse is over the number)

Thanks

Regards

Jeremy

Confirmed that you get names with the ASCOM Filter Wheel Simulator (.net) and you can change them in the ASCOM properties, so check the ASCOM properties for your filter wheel.

BYE shoes both the filter name and the needed focus offset (both of which are coming from the ASCOM properties for the filter wheel).

Oh, my bad.

Well, as a workaround you can enter your filters in order in settings -->  Image Capture --> Filter List, and then you will have them as a drop down next to the object name in the capture plan.

For the new feature, I would think what would work well from a UI point of view is to have the filters selectable on each line of the capture plan (if ascom filter wheel is connected) and populate the dropdown from the ascom driver there.
