Adjustments during Capture Plan Execution

jforkner

Question

Can , say, the shutter speed be changed during the execution of a capture plan without stopping the execution?  Or does the execution have to be stopped, shutter speed changed, and then restart the plan?  I ask this in preparation of recording tonight's eclipse, where I'll need to adjust the shutter speed (or ISO, I suppose) as the eclipse progresses.  I want to take a series of images (one every 30 sec.) during the event, and will need to adjust the shutter speed to maintain a proper exposure.

I guess what I'm asking is...can I setup and execute a single plan for the duration, adjusting along the way?  Or will I need to prepare a separate plan for each shutter speed used?

Thanks.

I do see how it can be automated assuming the five selected shutter speeds are correct for the entire eclipse.  But if, for instance, during the total eclipse the moon was darker than anticipated, wouldn't you need to halt the process to adjust the shutter speed?

Perhaps this method could be used effectively during the partial eclipse portion of the event.
